Brett Cody has been pastor of Whiting Community Church since May of 2014. Before serving in Whiting, he has served in North Carolina as a senior pastor and also as a worship pastor of churches in Raleigh, Emit and Newton Grove. He has also served in churches in Texas. He holds a Bachelor of Music Composition from Baylor University, a Master of Divinity from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, and a Doctor of Ministry from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. He has a passion for preaching and teaching the Word of God as well as a desire to build a Great Commission Church. He has been on mission teams traveling to China and Canada as well as locations in the United States. He is a hymn writer and has led WCC in composing hymns since pursuing his doctorate. He and his lovely wife, Sabrina, have four children: Leah, Andrew, Abigail and Jacob.
